It's Getting Better All the Time: AWS 900+

Beuaty, meet the beast. The new AWS 900+ retains the great features that made the original AWS 900 one of the most exciting new console offerings in years, and adds tighter integration with most DAWs, enhanced displays and metering, and a killer new platinum-look in its styling.

For those of you familiar with wrking on SSL consoles, the AWS 900+ will be a familiar and welcome sight.

If your studio deosn't look like this, perhaps it should.

In 2004, Solid State Logic stunned the audio world with the announcement of their first small-format console, the AWS 900. Combining the renowned sound and routing of their SuperAnalogue K-Series consoles with comprehensive control of DAW recording, mixing and editing functions, the AWS 900 is truly a board worthy of the SSL name. This year, SSL upped the ante by adding some key features based on the feedback of the engineers, producers, and studio owners who bought the original AWS 900, and the result is the AWS 900+.

What's the AWS 900 Been Up To?
If it's any indication of how "real" the AWS 900 is, it scooped the 2005 TEC Award in the Large Format Console category – despite measuring just 56" across! It's a serious console that's been used on big-time recordings, from the Rolling Stones’ ‘A Bigger Bang’ to Alicia Keys’ ‘Unplugged’ and Barbra Streisand’s ‘Guilty Pleasures’.

Installed in more than 150 of the most prestigious project studios in the world, the AWS 900 has proven its worth many times over. Now the new AWS 900+ builds on the successful formula by adding even tighter integration and better control over major DAW platforms, enhanced displays and meters, and a sleek ‘platinum’ styling.

What is an "Analogue Workstation System"?
It's pretty simple: the AWS 900+ combines the best elements of an SSL console with a powerful tactile control surface for working in the modern paradigm of digital audio workstations. As you know, SSL was the first company to integrate automation and machine control into the mixing console, and it pioneered surround mixing. The new AWS 900+ delivers the same powerful integration benefits to DAW users, who face similar challenges with an array of equipment (Mic Amps, Effects, Controllers etc.) to produce professional results from a modern DAW.

Design Concepts
The AWS 900+ is the result of SSL's extensive research into what its customers and the professional audio market as a whole wanted in a new console design. Their feedback helped formulate the AWS 900+'s design concepts and comprehensive feature set, which includes:

• Combined SSL console and DAW controller
• Legendary SSL SuperAnalogue™ mic pres and signal processing
• Full monitoring system up to 5.1 surround
• Direct control of DAW recording, editing and mixing functions
• Flexible signal routing
