The Pro AVS 2000 takes the wildly fluctuating current coming into your room and conditions it to deliver perfectly balanced 120V. This make your gear happy, which (in turn) will make you happy.

Play some word association with us for a moment, please. When we say, "Monster", if you're an audio geek, the next word that comes to your mind is "Cable", right? After all, Monster Cable has become a world-leading cable supplier for everything from pro audio to home theater, computer, gaming and any other activity that involves getting electrons between point A and point B.
The company's new division, Monster Power, takes on a different facet of the movement of electrons; that of power delivery, conditioning and protection. If you're already knowledgable about the importance of clean power (or read our interview with studio power guru Art Kelm here on gcpro.com), you may want to skip the next paragraph or two.
While everyone tries to maximize the sound quality of their studio by choosing the best components they can afford, not much thought is given to the electrical power upon which all the components depend. And often, even the minimal act of surge protection is neglected until it's too late. You only need to have one bad experience in this regard (with the resulting wiped hard drive, blown transformer and so on) to realize how crucial power protection is.
But even if you're protected against surges, the current that's flowing out of the AC wall socket in your studio probably wasn't designed for the stringent requirements of audio gear. The result can include high-frequency oscillations that get picked up by your gear in the form of performance-robbing hum, buzz and static. Also, a balanced power system will make a big difference in how your compnents are affected by RF and EM interference.
So that's where Monster Power comes in. They offer a wide range of products that are all designed to keep your power clean and your gear protected. Let's take a quick look at a few of Monster's multifacted power tools.
Keeping It Clean with the Pro AVS 2000
The Pro AVS 2000 is Monster's top of the line power tool. While your AC current coming into your building may fluctuate over a wide range, the Pro AVS 2000 provides consistent 120V output even when the incoming power wanders between 80-140V. You get three big digital meters for simultaneous monitoring of incoming voltage, amperage draw, and voltage correction (as well as indicators for ground, line, neutral, surge protection, normal/abnormal voltage, and switched outlet statuses). The Pro AVS 2000 provides color-coded high current outlets (4 programmable, sequentially switched, and 2 unswitched).
Like some of Monster's other power products, the Pro AVS 2000 automatically protects connected equipment in the event of extended over-voltage. A familiar aspect to Monster's high-quality cables, the Pro AVS 2000 employs 24k gold plated contacts on its grounded plug for maximum conductivity. And for pure cool factor, you even get an embossed plate with the signature of "the Head Monster", company founder Noel Lee. Sweet!
Stay Protected and Noise-Free
Monster's PRO 7000, PRO 3500 and PRO 2500 are all variations on a good theme: keeping your gear protected while eliminating the buzzes, hums and static caused by interference. What causes the interference? Anything that shares a power line with your studio's power -- a refrigerator, a computer, a TV -- is going to generate RF and EM interference, with audible effects. So Monster developed the Clean Power filter circuit to negate the interference at several different levels of protection.
Offering 12 outlets with stage 5 Clean Power circuitry, the PRO 7000, in the words of the Head Monster himself, "...will subdue any noise or ground loop you can throw at it." It features tri-mode circuitry for the most comprehensive power surge protection available, a digital microprocessor-driven voltmeter for instantaneous monitoring of all functions and fluctuations, T2 auto reset function after AC surge event, dual Noise Reduction Mode with switchable Balanced and Isolation modes, and more.
The PRO 3500 is like a smaller version of the 7000. It also offers 12 outlets, along with Clean Power Stage 3 filters optimized for digital, analog, and high current studio applications. The PRO 2500, with ten outlets and Clean Power Stage 2, is a great surge protection and interference-handling solution for smaller project and personal studios. And whille looking somewhat like a regular power strip, the PRO 2000 also uses Monster's Clean Power Stage 2 filter, making it an excellent low-cost power performance enhancer for home studios and live giggers.
